Mommy lunch at the Park

Mommy lunch at the park is my favorite activity during the week. We Ellensburg moms try to meet every Thursday at the local park with the kids. It is great because the kids think it is all about them, when in all actuality it is our saving grace. We get adult conversation, imagine that. We get to visit while our children play contently. This means that our children go home totally exhausted and ready for three hour naps, also a plus for mom. Without park day I think my children would be locked in an attic most days. They love to run and play, and when they do they are happy, which makes me happy. Hooray for Park Day!

Grant County Fair

As tradition would have it, we took the kids to the Grant County Fair. I don't think I have missed one in twenty years. We went on Saturday, the hottest day of the week at a whopping 109 degrees. The kids were troopers though. We tried to stay in barns and out the sun, but it was hot in there too. We stopped for ice cream to try to beat the heat, but after 5 minutes the ice cream melted and we were back to barn browsing. The kids loved the animals. Hayden pet a baby goat. Jordyn was quite content just looking, touching was not an appealing option. Finally we found the cold spot, the commercial building. It felt like a breath of fresh air as we walked inside. Eventually though, with all the bodies crammed inside, that building was not longer cool and no longer appealing. By that time it was time for another cool treat. Hawaiian Ices did the trick. The kids slurped them down in no time flat and we decided it was time to go home and throw the kids in a cool bath to swim. Despite the heat wave, the kids had a great time.

Lybbert Family Reunion 2008

The 2008 Lybbert Family Reunion went off without a hitch. I think everyone had a great time. We went to Curlew Lake in Republic, WA for a week of camping and fishing, and fun! We had 100 family members there and believe it or not we all get along. We managed to survive the heat, the bugs, each other and the FLU! Yuck!!

This was the first reunion for my husband and kids. Jordyn had a great time playing with the "BIG" girls, Jaimyn Law and Madisyn Lybbert. She followed those two everywhere they went. Forget about what the other kids were doing, she didn't care, she knew who the cool kids were. She got to play on the swings, and play in the water. She got to eat playdough, and dirt!. The dirt was her favorite thing to eat that week. Haha. Hayden just sat and watched, with big eyes and a big grin. He is just always happy, except when he got woken up in the middle of the night by shouting kids or other babies. Camping in a tent, with two babies, right next door to other people, and their babies is interesting, let me tell ya. We had a three ring circus, needless to say we cut the trip a day short and headed for beds, without disturbances!

I hope everyone who went had a great time as well. I am always interested in your thoughts so we can plan for the next family reunion.

I Graduated!

I finally did it. I graduated for Central Washington University with my Bachelors Degree in Business Administration. Graduation was Saturday, June 7th 2008. It felt so good to be officially done with school. Graduation was interesting. My family were troopers and came to support me in the hurricane force winds that are all too well known in Ellensburg. If I had been smart I would have pinned my hat on, but I didn't think that out.

Now I am busy looking for work. I am trying to stay close because Matt still has one year left. We will just have to see where the jobs take us. Matt's dad is hoping that means San Diego, but I don't think Jordyn would forgive me for taking her so far away from her Grandpa and Grandma Lybbert. Until a job surfaces I am working on planning the Lybbert Family Reunion. It has been interesting. I love planning it, I just worry if everyone is going to have fun. Hopefully it will be a huge success.

Fun in the Sun!

Jordyn got to meet Big Bird. She gave him a hug and she got to eat breakfast with him at Sea World. She was so excited. She tells everyone her story. She asks us every morning if she can have breakfast with the Sesame Street gang again.

I think Elmo was the highlight of the trip for her. She didn't know what to think. She got so intense and hugged him a hundred times. That has to be the coolest thing for a two year old to do!

Jordyn was a little leary of Bert at first, but she came around.

Hayden got to have his picture taken with Grover and Grandpa Stutsman. He is so cute. It is just too bad he won't remember anything.

Hayden is with his Grandma Stutsman. We took a cruise around Coronado Bay in San Diego. He is such a lady's man.

Mama's boy through and through. He loves to snuggle.

Jordyn got a new drawing board to play with at Grandma and Grandpa Stutsman's house. She had a great time. The trick was keeping her on the drawing board on not the walls!

Jordyn discover the doggy door was faster than asking someone to open the door for her. She used that all week.

Hey Y'all

Hey from the Stutsman crew. We are all well and good, but I think it is about time we started a page to keep in touch.

Matt is in his last year of school. I am graduating on June 7th. Jordyn just turned two and is talking like a wild comanche. Hayden in crawling and walking along the furniture. They are both a joy and a handful, what's new right.

Stay tuned for more updates!
